Celebrating Community Pride
Mother Nature didn't let Hampton Bays down on May 18. The sun was shining and the weather was perfect for the annual Community Pride Day celebration, held on the Hampton Bays Elementary School grounds.
The daylong event kicked off at 9 a.m. with a 5k race sponsored by the Booster Club, to benefit the March of Dimes. Family-oriented festivities followed, including a ribbon ceremony for the race winners, musical performances, bouncy rides, a football throwing and tackling station, a petting zoo, and the infamous dunk tank.
Community Pride Day also featured a variety of food options, from pizza slices and Italian ices from Francesca's Restaurant & Pizzeria to grilled hot dogs, chips, bagels and orange slices from the Hampton Bays School District. The event also featured a selection of Hampton Bays gear from the Baymen Booster Club, a Boy Scouts of America information booth and numerous shopping opportunities presented by local vendors.
