The members of the Hampton Bays High School Class of 2020 were presented with their diplomas during drive-through commencement exercises on June 26 and 27.

In the face of COVID-19 gathering restrictions, Hampton Bays ensured that each graduating senior was honored and recognized as they stepped up to a decorated podium at the front of the high school to receive their diplomas. Superintendent Lars Clemensen spoke about each senior’s accomplishments while family members snapped photos. Seniors also received adopt-a-senior gift bags containing items donated by generous community members and businesses.

The drive-through ceremony was preceded by several senior recognition events, including a graduation parade over the Ponquogue Bridge and a parade through the district’s three campuses, as well as a virtual graduation ceremony featuring commencement speeches by the Class of 2020 valedictorian and salutatorian.
