Back to the Books
It was a classic back-to-school scene at Hampton Bays Elementary on the morning of Monday, Sept. 9. Some students were excited to get into the classroom, while others shed a few tears at the prospect. As always, many parents were on hand, toting cameras and taking videos, to document and witness the transition for the youngest students on their first day of school.
The staff at Hampton Bays Elementary was more than prepared as they greeted their young charges with smiles. Each child was met by a teacher or administrator and instructed prior to making his or her way through the school's doors.
Many of the instructors, including physical education teacher Frank Mancuso, expressed their excitement to embrace a fresh new school year. Assistant Principal Richard Triandafils really got into the spirit, checking in with some of the children when their school buses arrived, high-fiving others and making sure that everyone felt welcome and ready to learn.
If the first moments of the first day were any indication, the 2013-2014 school year is set to be a great one.
