During a Continuing Education cooking class on November 30, Superintendent of Schools Lars Clemensen and Assistant to the Superintendent for Curriculum Denise Sullivan made a special appearance as “guest chefs.”
On the menu was Rigatoni with sausage bread, two delicious and easy recipes for families to use during the busy holiday season. Students in the class included community members, parents, and district staff. “Everyone had a great time and went home afterward with a copy of the recipes and a full stomach,” said Mr. Clemensen. Other guest chefs this semester have included High School science teacher Al Brigham and Elementary School teachers B.J. Ferucci and Kristy Stevens.
The Community and Continuing Education Program offers a variety of opportunities for learning and growth. This semester, community members are enjoying classes in the areas of physical fitness, dance, writing, crafts, financial planning, computer technology, and the arts. In addition, "Adult Education" also helps the Hampton Bays Public Schools fulfill its mission of promoting life-long learning in the community.
