Nikki Distefano, a freshman at Hampton Bays High School, is a senior Girl Scout working on earning her Gold Award, the highest honor a Girl Scout can receive.  To receive this honor, each candidate must create a Gold Award Project, a tangible project that has a direct benefit to the community.

Together with Nikki's family having roots in the military and Hampton Bays Public Schools' continued commitment to veterans, Nikki has decided to create a “Military Millennium Wall of Honor.”  Her vision features the emblem of each branch of service, surrounded by the names of Hampton Bays alumni.  This “Military Millennium Wall of Honor” will be housed in the Hampton Bays High School.

If you, or anyone you know, has served in a branch of the military, please forward your name, graduation year, proof of service, and branch.  All information can be sent to Hampton Bays High School, attention: “Military Wall of Honor” at 88 Argonne Road East, Hampton Bays, New York 11946 or to whonor@hbschools.us.

Construction of this space is anticipated to start in the fall of 2014, so please submit information before then.  If you have any questions, email whonor@hbschools.us.

Thank you in advance for your participation and your continued support of the Hampton Bays Public Schools!
