Hampton Bays Elementary School students wowed a gymnasium chock-full of parents, family, friends and visitors during the annual school Science Fair.
Exhibits at the Fair, hosted by the Hampton Bays Elementary School Parent-Teacher Association, included studies on static electricity, what happens when a volcano erupts, what drinks stain teeth, how a light bulb works, making better bubbles, how magnetism works, chemistry in the kitchen and more.
Teacher Adam Fritzen announced the winners on Tuesday night. Those awarded in the kindergarten class included: first-place winner Zachary Himelfarb, second-place winners Isabelle Caine, Zachary Himelfarb, Maize Poulakis, Dominic Polakowski and Dante Zangrillo, and third-place winner Christian DeRosas.
First-grade awards included: first-place winner Braedon Dorchak, second-place winner Elle Dunkirk, and third-place winner Isabel Sheridan.
Second-grade awards included: first-place winner Saorla Scully, second-place winner Emma Naclerio, and third-place winner Grace Grimes.
Third-grade awards included: first-place winner Brianna Hemmings, second-place winner Jaden Ottati, and third-place winner Mia Milenhausen.
Fourth-grade awards included: first-place winners Jared Strecker and Natalie Gomez, second-place winner, Maria Duran and third-place winner Schuylar Dorchak.
