Senior Places Third in County Essay Contest

Congratulations to Hampton Bays High School senior and valedictorian of the Class of 2011 Pawel Golyski for placing third in Suffolk County in the VFW Voice of Democracy essay contest. The district partnered with the Quogue VFW Post to participate in the national contest that challenged high school students to write an essay on the theme, “Does My Generation Have a Role in America's Future.”
Pawel and his family, along with the Quogue VFW leadership, Superintendent of Schools Lars Clemensen and High School Principal Chris Richardt attended the ceremony in March, where Pawel was honored with proclamations from State Senator Ken LaValle and Congressman Tim Bishop.
