High school senior David Ramirez has been named a 2015-16 National Hispanic Scholar through the College Board’s National Hispanic Recognition Program.

David qualified for the designation based on his high Preliminary SAT score. He is one of 5,000 Hispanic students to earn the designation out of over 250,000 Hispanic students who took the PSAT last year.

David said he was thrilled to learn of the honor and believes it will help him gain admission into one of the universities he has his eye on, including Stony Brook University and NYU. In college, he intends to study computer science.

In addition to his dedication to his academics, David participates in the school’s Future Business Leaders of America club and Mathletes team. He is also the treasurer of the school’s robotics team.
