In support of Bullying Prevention Awareness Month, the elementary school held its fifth annual schoolwide anti-bullying poster contest.

As part of the contest, students were asked to design posters that illustrated how to recognize, deal with and prevent bullying. Entrants submitted colorful and poignant posters, and five were selected as winners. The winning designs were created by Sarah Mendel, Kayleigh Nunns, Joffre Proano, Anthony Choy Vasquez and Jadzia Wilson.

In addition to hosting the annual contest, teachers incorporated activities to raise awareness about bullying into lessons, and all students took an anti-bullying pledge. The month’s activities culminated with a Citizen of the Month assembly, where students were admitted into the elementary school’s Hall of Fame and recognized for exhibiting exemplary characteristics of citizenship.
