Paper Plate Turkeys
In learning about Thanksgiving traditions and the history surrounding the American holiday, kindergartners put their artistic skills into practice by designing paper plate replicas of one of the day’s time-honored symbols, the turkey. The colorful creations were fashioned using a variety of materials, including plates, construction paper, feathers and googly eyes.
In addition, the students in Lori Foster’s class spoke about what they are thankful for and wrote down their top three thoughts. The finished writings were attached to a pilgrim craft that they had made from paper plates.
