Celebrating Reading
The elementary school continued to celebrate its monthlong Pick a Reading Partner initiative with several special events during the week of March 14.
The week kicked off with volunteer readers from Target sharing the famous Dr. Seuss tale “Green Eggs and Ham” and continued with a visit from bestselling author Wendy Wax. Festivities culminated in the school’s annual Author Night, where eager readers met with more than 20 authors.
All of the activities aimed to inspire students to develop a lifelong love of reading and participate in PARP, which began on March 4 with a schoolwide assembly. Throughout the month, students can earn individual and class prizes by reading with a partner every day for at least 15 minutes.
