Giving Back to the Bays
In an effort to help protect the community’s natural resources, middle school sixth-graders in Jim Waring’s class planted spartina salt-water cord grass at the Old Ponquogue Bridge Marine Park on June 6. The planting culminated a yearlong project in which students germinated, grew and cared for the spartina that they planted. The project was completed in conjunction with Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Town of Southampton.
