Hampton Bays Idol Competition

It was a sold-out show for the first round of the “Hampton Bays Idol” talent competition on Thursday, January 21, held at the high school auditorium. Approximately 35 high school and middle school students performed, but only 20 will be going on to the finals, which will occur on April 15 at 7 p.m. at the high school.

In addition to the singing competition, there were also trivia contests and sing-alongs between the seven groupings of five “Idol” contestants. Personalities from radio station WBLI were also present for the event. 



Hampton Bays High School students who were selected to compete in the finale in April are:

Samantha Downs, Abigail Kraycar, Jesse Eaton, Maria Jauregui, Amanda Sanabria, John Capuano, Rachel Reed, James Tran, Yvon Reyes and Deborah Carlin. 

Hampton Bays Middle School students moving on in the competition will include: Alyssa Ortiz, Elizabeth Lowry, Gioia Sacco, Taylor Dunn, Christina Pasca, John Sanabria, Mackenzie Engledrum, Lily Pugsley, Savannah Medina and Samet Kardeniz. 



Hampton Bays teachers will also be invited to participate in what will sure to be a show-stopping finale performance coming up in April.
