On Friday, June 15, the Hampton Bays Performing Arts Parents Association (P.A.P.A.) awarded their first-ever Summer Music & Performing Arts Study Scholarships to 11 Hampton Bays Middle School students. P.A.P.A. is the Hampton Bays parents group that supports the music and performing arts programs in all three Hampton Bays Schools.
“The goal of the group is to work with the music and performing arts departments of all schools to support their ‘wish lists,’” remarked Monika Straka, a member of the P.A.P.A. executive committee. “The support of administration helps us fulfill our goals and fund scholarships to graduating seniors, as well as scholarships to younger children so that they may continue their musical and performing arts journey.”
This year, the middle school students received scholarships that will help offset the cost of summer lessons, which will further their interest in music and the performing arts.
