Hampton Bays School District students seamlessly transitioned back to school on Sept. 5. Among them were the kindergarten Class of 2031 and the senior Class of 2019.
On their first day of school, kindergartners met their teachers and prepared for a year filled with learning-based play, while high school seniors set their sights on graduation as they embarked on their last year in the district.
The 2018-19 school year will feature a slew of new initiatives within the district’s schools, including the introduction of Chromebooks to all students in grades 5-12, a new science lab at the elementary school, and expanded opportunities for math, science and engineering at both the middle school and high school.
“This year is off to a wonderful start,” said Superintendent of Schools Lars Clemensen. “We are looking forward to a very productive and successful year.”
