Hampton Bays Routs Wyandanch at Homecoming
The Hampton Bays Baymen were positively unbeatable during their annual homecoming game against the Wyandanch Warriors on Oct. 20. The Baymen, a force to be reckoned with this year, trounced the Warriors by a score of 54-0.
The Baymen—who have earned six wins and suffered only one loss so far this season —were supported by a capacity crowd during the home football game. Crowds of fans showed up in Hampton Bays purple, with many also donning the color pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Earlier on Saturday morning, students from the high school participated in the annual homecoming parade. This year, the theme was books. The seniors chose “Harry Potter,” the juniors featured “Alice in Wonderland,” the sophomores went with “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” and the freshmen displayed “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
Spirit Week was once again a huge success, with high school students and staff participating in special theme days throughout the week, starting with Urkel Day, Twin Day and Wacky Day and finishing off with Superhero Day and Class Color Day.
