Dear Hampton Bays Public Schools’ Community:

Along with you, the Hampton Bays Public Schools is closely monitoring the impending weather for tomorrow and the weekend.  At this point, the forecasts seem to be focused on not questions of IF, but WHEN, HOW MUCH, and WHAT KIND.  Therefore, we suggest you revisit your schedule for Friday and the weekend to remain flexible in responding to the weather system that will impact our area.

While we anticipate a normal school day tomorrow, decisions may need to be made regarding events later in the day and the weekend, including an early dismissal if warranted.  Please note, no decisions have been made at this time.

Communications regarding district-wide decisions are sent through Facebook (Hampton Bays Public Schools), this website (www.hbschools.us), WLNG 92.1, News12, and our School Messenger call-system.  Individual events, like practices, games, or club meetings, will also be communicated by your child’s coach or advisor, as well, and contingency plans for those activities will be developed as well.

Closures, cancellations, and dismissals are made to protect the health and safety of students and staff.  Please remember that additional closures will result in added school days to Spring Recess because the District has exhausted all Emergency Closure Days.  This fact will not impact my decision to remain open or closed.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s school.

Respectfully,

Lars Clemensen

uperintendent of Schools
