School spirit was in the air on Oct. 11 as Hampton Bays High School celebrated its 2019 homecoming football game under the lights.

Hoots and cheers erupted from the crowd as the Baymen defended their home turf while cheerleaders entertained with their chants and stunts. For their hard work on the chilly fall evening, the Baymen defeated the Wyandanch Warriors with a final score of 29-8.

The evening also featured a special presentation at halftime commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Baymen. Then known as the Indians, the school’s first football team played their inaugural game in fall 1949.

The homecoming game followed a spirited week of activities that included theme days and an annual community pep rally.
