As a result of the district’s longstanding relationship with the Cornell Cooperative Extension in Riverhead, the district was able to create a sustainable community garden on the middle school campus as part of CCE’s “Creating Healthy Spaces” initiative, which is funded by a New York State Department of Health grant. The garden is a year-round endeavor and includes garden plots that are maintained by members of the community and our student body – both clubs and classes.
