It was a super-size ceremony this year for the 40 students who were inducted into the 2011-2012 National Honor Society at Hampton Bays High School Optimates Chapter on Wednesday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m.

The annual candlelight induction ceremony, held in the high school auditorium, honored those students who possess the five qualities of the National Honor Society: knowledge, scholarship, leadership, service and character. The theme of this year’s ceremony was “Light is the Symbol of Truth.”

New members were ushered into their new Honor Society roles by the 14 graduating 2010-2011 members. Those inducted on Wednesday night included: seniors Thomas Agoglia, Molly Jane Mailtand-Walker and Valeria Martinez and juniors Vanessa Alvarez, Debora Assis, Samantha Barrett, Maida Brbutovic, Yoselin Calderon, Theresa Carey, Amanda Coruzzi, Sandra Cuccia, Taylor DeBenedetto, Emma Del Rey, Taylor Diffley, Katie Dubowski, Michele Eppig, Perry Friscia, Alexandra Giannone, Nicole Gunther, Taylor Jayne, Stefani Joslin, Corinne Lein, Kala Lindtvit, Rebecka Lubrano, Rebecca Mary Mangan, Meghan McManus, Cameron Miller, Alexandra Ogris, Steffanie Ogris, Brooke Oliveri, Kiara Quinonez, Sarah Reed, KatieLee Riela, Anthony Romagnoli, Sean Ryan, Amanda Sanabria, Alyssa Sardone, Andrew Schultze, Danielle Streeker and Jie-Lu Zhou.
