Girls relay team breaks school record

The Hampton Bays girls varsity 4x100-meter relay team has broken the school’s record at the Suffolk County meet. The team, made up of Isabella Becerra, Madysen Frederiksen, Eleanor Ramsay and Manuella Ribeiro, ran the race in 52.19 seconds, shattering the previous record by almost two seconds. The Hampton Bays School District extends its congratulations to the team.

Hampton Bays seniors earn Suffolk Zone Awards

Hampton Bays High School seniors Edie Cabrera and Taylor Meyers were recently honored by the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance as winners of the Suffolk Zone Award. The seniors were selected based on their outstanding character, exceptional leadership in the school environment and status as physical fitness role models for other students. The Hampton Bays School District congratulates both students on this well-deserved honor.

Senior football player earns Scholar-Athlete award

Hampton Bays High School senior Joshua Reyes has been named a Scholar-Athlete by the Suffolk Chapter of the National Football Foundation. He earned the award for his excellence on the field and in the classroom.

Aside from his academic strengths as an honors student, Reyes is a two-time All-Division varsity football award winner. He has also competed on his school’s varsity wrestling team. Beyond his own athletic pursuits, Reyes gives back to his community as a youth flag football coach.

This fall, Reyes will attend SUNY Cortland, where he plans to major in criminology.
