The community is invited to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony, culminating the three-year construction of the district’s new state-of-the-art athletic complex on Friday, September 4 at 6:30 p.m.

The ceremony will be held following a viewing of the complex grounds, starting at 6:00 p.m.  During the ceremony, the complex will be dedicated to former school board president and well-respected community member Doug Oakland, who passed away this summer.

“Mr. Oakland was instrumental in the passage of the 2012 bond referendum, which brought this athletic complex to fruition. It is only fitting that we memorialize him in this way,” said Superintendent of Schools Lars Clemensen.

The ceremony will be followed by a ceremonial coin toss and football game against John Glenn High School beginning at 7:05 p.m.
