A colorful new mural now adorns the business course hallway at Hampton Bays High School. The 300-square-foot mural is the product of over 100 students working together alongside local artist Maria Fumai Dietrich. Over the course of a week, the students painted and sketched the various images that are incorporated in the mural, which carries the theme of “growth.” It features brightly colored flowers, plants and butterflies. This is the second mural that students have painted on the high school’s walls. In 2022, students worked with professional muralist Joe Pimentel on a mural in the school’s main hallway. It incorporates the theme of “Through Our Eyes,” aimed at promoting unity among students while engaging them in something positive.
