In honor of Earth Day, Hampton Bays Elementary School kindergarten students participated in a hands-on assembly filled with learning and creativity. The event featured a special reading of “The Fin-Tastic Cleanup” by community member and local author Laura Mancuso and her illustrator, Jenna Guidi, sparking important conversations about protecting our planet. Following the story, students engaged in a three Rs art project, where they repurposed toilet paper rolls to craft a stunning class tree. The project not only highlighted the importance of reusing and recycling, but also gave students a chance to express their creativity while demonstrating how small actions can make a big difference in conserving the earth. The tree will be displayed for the remainder of the school year for all students to enjoy.
