Hampton Bays Elementary School first grade students in Karly Schmitt’s class have been building on their math skills through a fun and engaging math project. After using the hundreds chart to practice counting, they created fall trees decorated with red, orange, yellow and brown leaves. They counted and sorted the number of leaves they drew of each color, then wrote down their numbers. Their projects are proudly displayed in the hallway for their peers to see.
