Hampton Bays Elementary School third graders in Ryan Heeter’s and Jennifer Warren’s classes recently participated in a meaningful lesson to commemorate Patriot Day and honor the lives lost on 9/11. As part of the activity, students created flipbooks and remembrance ribbons while learning about the vital roles of first responders, including police officers, firefighters and other emergency service workers who courageously answered the call that day. Through the project, students were able to gain a deeper understanding of why we honor those who serve and protect our communities.
